As the coronavirus pandemic sees the prime minister announcing ever more measures to keep the public safe, Whybridge Infant School experiences its own measures being tested. Pupils from the Willow class bubble have been forced to stay at home following a positive case inside their bubble. However, the person is looking fit to recover soon and this has not deterred the young learners from continuing to engage with the school and take personal ownership over their own learning! The head teacher, Miss Longhurst commented "We are so proud that all of our pupils are continuing their lessons from home and are showing no sign of letting this small set back defeat them, also the few pupils who are isolating at home who are not in Willow Class have produced some fabulous pieces of work from home."
Teachers have been posting online lessons, marking and responding to pupils via online platforms and messages from the school by email with plans and activities. Mrs Brown, Willow class teacher had this to say: "We are all in this together (I'm at home too) and even though I miss the children, it is amazing how well they are all coping and getting on with their lessons without making any fuss"
What an inspiring story of how our youngsters are showing fortitude to continue their studies in these difficult circumstances. Well done Team Whybridge!
