Does your child have a particular need that requires different input to mainstream learning? Reading - pupils are expected to read to an adult at least 4 times per week with a comment/ signature in their reading record - this leads to their character progressing along the class reading race (on a display in the classroom). Pupils have access to the following books:
a library book
an oxford reading tree book
a colour coded/ banded book
digital books on BugClub
The reading record also contains the list of words children are currently learning to spell and read.
KS1 - pupils receive a piece of English and Maths homework every Friday linked to the work being taught that week in class. This must be completed and returned by the following Thursday.
Reception - pupils have a pink book with 'house words' that children are currently reading, which should be practiced at home and tasks are set on 'Busy Things' each week.
We recommend looking through Busy Things regularly for additional tasks and interactive challenges but this is not compulsory.
