Free School Meals - Have You Applied Yet?

My child already receives Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) so why should I apply for Free School Meals (FSM)?

• FSM also entitles your child to free milk over the age of 5 (UIFSM does not)
• FSM will continue after your child has left infants.  UIFSM will stop when your child leaves infants.
• FSM is often provided when the government closes schools such as for the pandemic lockdowns and during school holidays.  UIFSM is never provided at these times.
• FSM entitlement is often used as an eligibility criteria for accessing other services.  UIFSM has no additional benefits
• FSM entitles your child's school to additional funding in the form of the Pupil Premium Grant to improve the school's overall provision.
